Tire Resistant Flooring System for Niemann’s Auto Touch in Northern California

Niemann’s Auto Touch in Placerville, California, is a one-stop-shop, serving El Dorado & Amador County for over 20 years. They moved into a new detail shop space and needed a durable system to withstand the vehicular traffic that the floor would receive. When the floor was ready to be coated, the Niemann’s reached out to Paul Koury, Westcoat CEO, directly as they’ve known each other for many years.  

NorCal rep Chris Tapia was brought in to find an applicator right for the job. After recommending Matt Bowen of Prep Concrete they got to work. 

Wanting to avoid any moisture issues the concrete was prepped and EC-15 MVB, moisture vapor barrier, was installed to mitigate moisture. For tire resistance, two coats of EC-102 Polyaspartic Topcoat in Cape Cod Gray was installed to build up the floor.

EC-102 Polyaspartic is designed to be used as a topcoat for many of the Westcoat Epoxy Systems. It provides a non-yellowing, high gloss, fast drying, medium-build finish with outstanding wear resistance. EC-102 on industrial floors, garage floors, decorative floors, restaurant floors, food processing facilities, automotive service areas, airplane hangars, commercial pool decks or where a medium build and high sheen is desired.

EC-15 Moisture Vapor Barrier is a uniquely formulated, two component, 100% solids, zero VOC epoxy that is moisture tolerant and diluent free. Designed to be applied directly over properly prepared concrete substrates and works to reduce the MVER (Moisture Vapor Emission Rate) of up to 15 lbs/24 hours * 1000 square feet. Can be used with most Westcoat Systems.
