Hospital in Tennessee Receives Waterproofing

Saint Thomas West Hospital provides adult specialty healthcare to the more than two million residents of Middle Tennessee, Southwestern Kentucky, and Northern Alabama. Saint Thomas health system consists of nine hospitals and a comprehensive network of affiliated joint ventures in diagnostics, cardiac services, and ambulatory surgery as well as medical practices, clinics, and rehabilitation facilities.
St. Thomas Floor Challenge
St. Thomas had a 2,000 square foot exterior patio used by the staff for breaks. The hospital wanted to repair the existing floor and beautify the area for the staff to enjoy. The project was negoitated with Ted Griffith, the owner of Enecon, a contractor in Nashville. Ted reached out to his local Westcoat Architectural Representative.
Westcoat met with Enecon on the job site and recommended VII Construction who is an experienced waterproofing Qualified Applicator (QCA) of Westcoat. Both companies worked in tandem to complete the job.
Waterproof Flooring Solution
After assessing the existing patio, Westcoat recommended that VII Construction repair the concrete with our TC-23 Mortar Mix product to patch the spalls and apply a slurry coat of TC-1 over the entire surface to provide a consistent leveled surface. Once the surface was leveled, MACoat Custom Finish was applied and sealed with SC-66 Water-Based Satin Polyurethane Sealer and CA-31 Large Safe Grip for added slip-resistance.
