Sprouts Springs Estates Vineyard – ALX Custom

Overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains in Eastern Tennessee, Chuck and Alice Belt were looking for a unique surface for the large deck they were building to host weddings at their property. The couple, both mechanical engineers, wanted a system that was waterproof, durable and decorative. Researching several options to fit all their needs, they chose Westcoat’s ALX system with a custom finish. Local distributor Jeff Berkley of Berkley Specialties enlisted a qualified applicator to help install the system, Chris Blevins of Blevins Hardscapes LLC in Eubank, KY.
After framing and flashing was complete, Westcoat’s ALX premier waterproof deck system was installed. The ALX deck system was then custom finished with Westcoat TC-2 Smooth Texture Cement then stained with SC-35 Water-Based Stain in both Mahogany and Onyx. For maximum protection, the deck was sealed with two coats of SC-71 High VOC Acrylic Lacquer Sealer. The owners loved the finished surface so much, they decided to do a smaller second story balcony deck overlooking their personal vineyard.
