Viziv Technologies in Waxahachie Texas is busy transforming wireless power into a global resource and needed a solution for a leaky space. 

About Viziv

The Viziv tower sits on a 7,000 square foot platform or concrete lid that houses the technology. The leaks were becoming problematic and Viviz needed a watertight solution for the harsh Texas weather. The company took it into their own hands to test two competing waterproofing systems and MACoat was selected based on its performance and reputation. 

Operations Manager Ruben Cervantes was onsite to ensure the specification was followed and no details were missed. Christian, the foreman at T.W. Hicks installed the system, and his crew did a fantastic job working around some windy and rainy conditions that threatened to delay the project, but they made it happen. Westcoat Texas Rep, Kevin Ross visited the project during the install to document the coverage rates, application methods, and capture images. 

The team installed MACoat Standard and began by prepping the existing concrete to CSP 3 by shot-blasting and grinding the edges. Fiberlath (WP-47) was installed to reinforce the cement followed by a magic trowel-applied base coat cement (TC-1).  

WP Wrap was installed to supplement the waterproofing system along the 600-foot perimeter which included wall to deck interface, curbing, and concrete slab edges to further prevent water intrusion. 

The slurry coat was then applied and sealed with our acrylic sealer in Cape Cod Gray (SC-10).

The MACoat™ System is mainly used on elevated concrete and non-fire-rated plywood walking decks, while ALX™ is designed for use on plywood. Both systems can be installed over old systems to provide an excellent method for the rehabilitation of problem surfaces. Advantages of WP Wrap for Viziv

WP Wrap is a supplemental waterproofing system used to provide additional waterproofing with reinforcement, along the perimeter of decks, over flashing and other challenging areas. It incorporates an asphalt-modified latex, elastomeric WP-95 Waterproofing Membrane, with a flexible engineered WP-45 Flashing Fabric, to create a seamless, reinforced waterproofing membrane.
