Designed by The Bradley Projects, co-developed by Bradley Development Group, and constructed by Certified Construction Services, Linden Row’s 38 luxury row homes are located in Green Hills. Phase 1, consisting of 17 units, completed construction in December 2020, and Phase two of the project began late spring 2022, for a total project value of $42 million.

After years of demonstrated waterproofing success using Westcoat’s ALX and MACoat systems for every deck and walkway, the client requested Westcoat continue providing flooring maintenance for these projects.

Project Details

Owner Jared Bradley, an architect originally from San Diego who moved to Tennessee, specified ALX for the project. He had a lot of pushback at first due to the fact that the ALX system was new to the area and there were no trained applicators. This almost stopped using the ALX system, but with trainings and visits once a month, they were able to overcome the hurdles and now ALX and/or MACoat are specified on nearly every project they build.

This project had patio decks and a roof deck over living space on every unit. Applicator Strong Waterproofing installed the ALX Pro system on the roof for that extra layer of waterproofing insurance. The finish was a smooth texture with SC-10 as the final topcoat.

About ALX Pro

Westcoat’s ALX™ Pro is a waterproof walking deck system. This bonded system is reinforced with metal lath, a fiberlath reinforced membrane, a series of polymer-modified cementitious applications, and is sealed with Westcoat’s SC-10 Acrylic Topcoat. The finished product wears approximately 2½ lbs per square foot. This system gives plywood the look and feel of concrete with a decorative appeal.

Uses

ALX Pro is designed for use on plywood. It is recommended for the discriminating architect, contractor, or building owner that demands the greatest in strength and durability. ALX Pro is  ideal for decks with ten foot or larger spans and in cases where additional crack resistance and flexibility are essential.

ALX Pro has been designed for balconies, corridors, and landings. It is regularly specified for hotels, condominiums, apartments, and office buildings. ALX™ Pro can be stapled through most old deck systems to provide an excellent method for the rehabilitation of problem surfaces.
