Faith in the System

Project Details

Victory Faith Church in Spokane Valley, Washington, houses a playground for its young attendees to freely enjoy. This indoor playground features colorful play structures, eccentric wall designs, and a flashy floor to match the exciting energy the room emanates. Years of play and foot traffic wore down the existing epoxy floor, ultimately  requiring an upgrade.

Addressing the Issue

Despite the complex design and multiple colors, Dennis and his team at FloriArtisan Concrete embraced the challenge. With the support of Westcoat representative Lee Jenkerson, Dennis developed a solution utilizing Westcoat products over the client’s original specified choice. Working alongside California general contractor Reeve-Knight Inc. Construction and Storyland Studios, they tackled the project with precision and creativity.

The project involved significant concrete leveling – about 75% of the surface required removal to achieve a uniform slope. To do so, the application team purchased and employed specialized equipment (a super shaver machine) for this purpose.

The Solution – Liquid Granite™

Westcoat’s Liquid Granite™ system, with a custom color in the body coat and solid-colored flakes, deemed to best fit the intended goals for a visually appealing yet durable floor. Additionally, Westcoat’s EC-101 100% Solids Polyaspartic’s fast drying and high durability topcoat characteristics made this system perfect for fast turnaround and compliance.

After prep and priming, majority of the process used EC-101 for the broadcast coat and topcoat. The team at FloriArtisan strove to create a protective and aesthetically captivating space by intermixing polished sections and curved lines and edges.

Now, Victory Faith Church boasts a revitalized indoor playground that radiates energy and excitement, welcoming visitors with its refreshed ambiance!
