U Lucky Dog (or Club ULD) is one of the largest dog care businesses in Denver. They offer daycare, boarding, grooming and walks among many more dog-centric services. The recently expanded facility boasts an additional area for your furry friends’ overnight stays.  

Denver Commercial Property Services (DCPS) was hired to install a kennel flooring solution that allowed dogs and humans to safely get around while maintaining a clean environment. Dog proof flooring should be skid resistant and sanitary. Travis Dunn of DCPS knew the perfect system, Westcoat’s Epoxy Thin Film. 

Why Westcoat 

The existing floor was extremely worn, with concrete patches throughout. The customer needed a cleanable, non-skid, custom color surface that would resemble grass for the dogs.  

Budget constraints would not allow for a full double broadcast or quartz system so DCPS did some mock-ups and decided the right solution was the Westcoat Thin Film System with a sand broadcast into the primer. 

Project Details 

EC-12 Epoxy primer was applied after the concrete was patched and primed. A 90 grit silica sand was broadcasted into the primer before it dried. Two layers of EC-95 Polyurethane Topcoat was applied to for added durability. Westcoat custom matched the desired color – Grass Green – and was able to accommodate the owners budget constraints.

Westcoat’s 100% Solids Thin Film System is an epoxy floor coating which provides a thin to medium build system that is tough, chemical resistant and durable. This system is installed using a 100% Solids epoxy.
