Hotel Walkway is Transformed at the Westin Maui Resort in Hawaii

Surrounded by scenic views and steps away from the beach, the Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Ka’anapali Hawaii is a place straight from one’s dreams. The resort sits alongside lush volcanic mountains and offers a variety of ways to both explore and relax.

This project was truly custom from the start. Westcoat Regional Sales Manager, Marc Di Zinno, worked with WCIT Architecture from the pre-production stage to ensure that the end result was everything they had been imagining.

Project Details

While working in Hawaii, Westcoat Regional Sales Manager, Marc Di Zinno, met with WCIT Architecture where they had asked him to match a specific tile color of the hotel walkway with Westcoat stains and sealers. So, Marc returned to California with a piece of tile in hand and got to work!

Marc created about 12 Grind Stain & Seal system samples himself for them to review. WCIT Architecture approved one of the samples. Marc then completed a 100 square foot mock-up in the parking garage with 7 different colors of the Texture-Crete Custom Finish.

The chairs in the resort’s restaurant were known to be quite damaging to the floors so it was during this mock-up that they put our product to the test. Marc and the team did everything they could to try and hurt the floor and were unsuccessful.

Applicator, Hawaiian Dredging, completed the installation over 12,000 square feet. Due to the Westin Maui Resort & Spa having existing stained concrete that was far too slippery, our Texture-Crete Custom system was recommended for the project.

Texture-Crete Custom Finish in the color Raven was applied over the Grind Stain & Seal system. It has been almost five years since the original installation, and it still holds up and looks fantastic.
