SoCal Winery Gets a Tasteful Floor Treatment
Located in the heart of downtown Oceanside just steps from the beach, visitors can enjoy Orfila Winery’s new beautifully designed tasting room. Orfila offers a full menu fit for the whole family – furry friends welcome too! Stop by and enjoy a flight and locally sourced meal!
Tasting Room Conundrum
Orfila needed something to protect the concrete in their new tasting room and they were referred by a neighboring restaurant where we did a similar Grind and Seal floor. The floor would experience not only food and wine spills but the potential for pet clean-up as well. After thorough discussion with the owner and general contractor, a Grind and Seal system was chosen to complete the look of the modern yet rustic space.
Concrete Transformation
This concrete was prepped with a light grind at 30/40 grit to start then all significant holes and cracks were patched with TC-29, a fast drying concrete patch compound. A final diamond grind with 60/80 grit was executed prior to two coats of SC-65 Clear Water-Based Polyurethane Topcoat. The kitchen was also prepped the same way but stained and then a base coat of EC-11 Clear Primer was applied prior to the SC-65 final coat. This USDA Compliant floor is ready to stand up to the rigors of everyday wine and food spills.
