Now that you have recently invested in new epoxy floors for your home or business, let’s take a moment to discuss the basics of epoxy floor maintenance and how maintaining your floors will help to prolong the life of your investment
A Guide to Maintenance
Daily Cleaning – Sweep, dust mop, microfiber, or clean by mopping using a neutral pH floor cleaner that would be typical for no-wax floors. Test all cleaning agents in an unnoticeable area to ensure compatibility and check your coating’s chemical resistance to be sure your cleaner won’t damage your floor.
Medium Soil Level Cleaning – For tougher dirt or grease, a mild degreaser can be used to loosen up oil, dirt, and grease. Use in combination with a brush or broom, being sure to completely rinse any residue. Use a soft bristle to avoid scratching and check the condition of your brushes or pads. If they are worn, this could cause potential scratching and new tools should be used.
Spills – Be sure to immediately clean up liquid spills to prevent staining and as a slip precaution. Spills typically puddle on epoxy surfaces and are quick to wipe clean.
Aggressive Cleaning – If you have serious staining or issues that will not resolve with the above recommendations, contact your local Westcoat representative to assist with formulating a plan.
