Tiny houses are popping up around the country as more people decide to downsize their lives. These tiny homes are filled with big ideas. From clever storage solutions to rooms that shape-shift to accommodate your every need, these homes show that you don’t have to live large to have fun. Many large and established Texas builders have been bitten by the “tiny home” bug including Arnold Custom Builders who want to utilize any space possible including a waterproofed roof deck.

Planning for the Tiny House Job

Knowing they wanted to add a roof deck to the Tiny Home, Arnold Custom Builders reached out to the Molander Group about installing a waterproofing system on the roof deck of the tiny home. Molander, a Westcoat Qualified Contractor Applicator (QCA), reached out to their local Architectural Representative Kevin Ross to evaluate the new home construction. Based on Arnold Custom Builders needs, and the materials being used on the job, they choose to use our ALX waterproofing system for plywood substrates.

Waterproofing the Roof Deck

The ALX Waterproofing system was installed with a custom tile pattern finished. Below is the job from start to finish.
